Child Health Evaluation and Care Physical Examiner, Part Time

Hackensack, New Jersey

The Audrey Hepburn Children's House (AHCH) is seeking a Part-Time CHEC Physical Examiner to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of children in need.


In this role, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive CHEC (Child Health Evaluation and Care) physical examinations on children entering foster care.
  • Collaborate with our Psychology team to provide a holistic assessment of each child's physical and mental health needs.
  • Work closely with social workers and other professionals to ensure children receive the necessary care and support.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest child health and welfare regulations and best practices.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an MD/DO degree.
  • Has completed an ACGME accredited pediatric residency.
  • Is a board-certified or board-eligible pediatrician.
  • Has a strong understanding of child development and health issues.
  • Is compassionate and patient with children, especially those who have experienced trauma.
  • Is a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is organized and detail-oriented
