Job Description

We are seeking a Marine/Boat Engine Assembler for a contract position in our manufacturing facility. This position involves working on fully assembled marine/boat engines that require custom parts to be added. You will be part of a team that supports the manufacturing process while following all safety, quality, and productivity standards.


Job Title: Marine/Boat Engine Assembler (Contract Position)

Location: 5901 River Road, Jefferson, LA, 70123

Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Contract Length: 10+ Months Contract Possibility of Extension or Conversion

Max Pay Rate: $22.46 per hour


This is an on-site, 1st shift role with hours from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM .


Key Responsibilities:

Site has fully assemble marine/boat engines which require added custom parts.

  • The primary responsibility is to install custom parts onto marine/boat engines, following the guidance of Senior Technicians.
  • The job requires mechanical aptitude and experience with boat engines, car engines, or other mechanical systems.
  • Follow standard work, process documentation, and company policies.
  • Raise any quality concerns to minimize cost and exposure.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure high standards.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, safety, and employee development.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring routine housekeeping tasks are completed.
  • Apply the Cummins Operating System (COS) and Operations Excellence (OE) methodology.
  • Remain flexible and perform other duties as required to meet manufacturing goals.
  • Collaborate with peers and all levels of the organization to maintain process performance.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Operate Power Industrial Devices (PIDs) such as forklifts.
  • Install custom parts on marine/boat engines as directed by Senior Technicians.
  • Perform tasks that support the manufacturing process safely and efficiently.
  • Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.
  • Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard.
  • Comply with all HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote a culture of interdependence by looking out for one another.
  • Correct hazards within your control and capabilities.
  • Minimize negative environmental impacts related to your work.
  • Participate in HSE training and development.
