Job Title: Construction Manager

Location: Westin, OH

Reports To: Project Manager

Position Summary:

The Construction Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the project from start to finish, ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of the project in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices. The role is site-based, and work hours may vary depending on project deadlines and construction schedules.


Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and oversee construction activities to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget

• Monitor construction progress and quality, and take proactive measures to address any issues or delays

• Conduct regular inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations

• Manage and allocate resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials

• Coordinate deliveries and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment needed for construction

• Monitor project budgets and expenditures, and take steps to control costs and avoid budget overruns

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions to the construction schedule and budget

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environment standards throughout the construction process

• Serve as the main point of contact for communication between stakeholders, project team members and contractors

• Provide regular progress reports and updates to project stakeholders, including management and clients

• Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets industry standards and project specifications

• Conduct inspections and tests as necessary to verify compliance with design and regulatory requirements

• Oversee the final stages of construction, including commissioning and testing of the systems

• Ensure all necessary documentation, warranties, and certifications are obtained and submitted upon project completion

• Lead and motivate a team to achieve project goals and objectives

• Foster a positive and productive work environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork


Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager, ideally with specific experience in solar construction

• Strong knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and standards

Excellent leadership and communication skills

• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively

• Familiarity with project management software and tools

• Certifications in construction management or related fields (e.g., PMP, LEED) may be advantageous


Physical Requirements:

• Ability to navigate construction sites which may involve uneven terrain, and varying weather conditions

Stamina to walk long distances, climb stairs or ladders as necessary

• Capability to lift and carry equipment or materials

• Handling and reviewing physical documents, plans, and equipment as needed

• Good vision and hearing to oversee construction activities, observe safety hazards, and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and regulations, which may include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests

• Tolerance for outdoor work environments exposed to sun, wind, rain, and temperature variations

• Awareness of potential hazards like heavy machinery, electrical equipment, and construction noise
