Job Description

Job Title: Support Coordinator

Client: University of Southern California (USC)

Location: 1441 Eastlake Ave 7th floor Los Angeles CA 90033

Work Type: 100% Onsite

Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Shift: 8-hour Day Shift, Monday - Friday


Key Responsibilities


Patient Registration

  • Collect and accurately record patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Ensure all required forms and documents are completed and signed by the patient.

Insurance Verification

  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for new patients.
  • Communicate insurance details, including co-pays and deductible amounts, to patients.

Scheduling

  • Schedule appointments for new patients and coordinate with medical staff and providers.
  • Manage appointment calendars to optimize patient flow and minimize wait times.

Documentation and Data Entry

  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR) for new patients.
  • Enter patient information, medical history, and other relevant data into the EHR system.

Communication

  • Address patient inquiries and provide information on clinic procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a seamless intake process.

Problem Resolution

  • Address patient concerns related to the intake process promptly and professionally.
  • Work with supervisors to resolve complex issues or discrepancies.

Compliance

  • Adhere to healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and compliance standards when handling patient information.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry changes and regulations.


Qualifications


Must Have:

  • High school diploma (college coursework is a plus).
  • Prior experience in the medical field, including patient scheduling.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.


Preferred:

  • Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Customer service-oriented, with a commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience.
