Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, Head of North America, the incumbent will support three companies (Lehigh White Cement, Vianini Pipe and GCI) under the parent company, Cementir, in all areas related to compensation and benefits. Strong focus on payroll activities for all employees. This role will act as an advisor to the VP of HR in all areas related to remuneration and retirement (Pension, 401k, Medicare Benefits), and will be responsible for analyzing personnel related costs, variances, and preparing monthly reporting. Incumbent will play a significant role in the annual budgeting and forecasting process and will be a hands-on Business Partner (as it relates to compensation).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to :
- PAYROLL; “Hands-on” in implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems (i.e., ADP Workforce Now), ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing; to include salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other payroll transactions,
- PAYROLL: Via dotted line, manages three remote payroll and support personnel (i.e. Plant Clerks),
- PAYROLL: Ensures remuneration activities comply with company policies, procedures, and governing Federal, State, and local law,
- Manages the various benefits programs, and the associated vendors, and analyzes vs market, partners with VP of HR to evaluate areas of opportunity,
- Month end close, completes all required reports, partners with VP of HR to analyzes data related to personnel costs to assess financial impacts, and provides recommended courses of action for improvements,
- Conducts salary analysis of Company vs market, to support VP of HR in developing a North America compensation strategy,
- Directly administers and manages the varied 401k, Pension, and Medical Retirement programs for the North American business units, in addition partners with VP of HR to analyze vs market,
- Supports VP of HR in the forecasting of annual personal expenses; done on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually basis,
- Partners with the Finance team to ensure all month-end HR reporting is submitted accurately and prior to deadlines,
- Facilitates and manages both internal and external audits encompassing all items related to compensation,
- Reviews and processes HR related invoices and charges, approving or denying costs as required by law or policy,
- Supports the onboarding and exiting of newly hired or separating employees,
- Manages the professional relationship with our ADP, Inc. vendor,
- Supports in providing Global HQ (located in Rome, Italy) with all requested reports encompassing compensation and/or the Human Resources team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION :
- Bachelor’s degree required
EXPERIENCE :
-Multi-site, multi-state, and experience processing payroll using FX (exchange rates),
-Managing the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis,
-Leading or developing or improving various benefits programs,
-Performing and establishing pay banding and market analysis of salaries.
-Direct payroll or finance experience within a manufacturing business,
-Administering labor union payrolls and interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements,
-General experience in an accounting department.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE :
- Proficient with ADP is preferred,
- SAP knowledge preferred,
- Experience with Korn Ferry pay bands preferred,
- Highly proficient with MS Excel.
