Job Description:
- Responsible for clinical and all aspects of adult and pediatric patient care involving Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Responsible for assisting physicians/providers and management with all clinical, clerical, and organizational tasks revolving around patient care for infusion services. Travel within the different sites as needed for staff education and patient care.
Essential Job Duties – (Duties include but are not limited to the following):
- Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
- Gather medical documentation to support the patients' medical necessity for treatments
- Complete preregistration functions such as validating patient demographic information, identifying and verifying medical benefits and insurance information
- Monitor schedule and organize patient flow
- Perform up keep for facilities with regards to sterilization and infection control, supplies, and equipment
- Ensure that each patient completes correct documentation, signs any NNS form, and provides consent prior to any testing (skin, patch, breathing, drug/medication testing etc..)
- Food Challenges preparation and administration
- Skin and patch testing preparation and administration
- Drug/medication preparation and administration
- Steroid-shots preparation and administration
- Drawing of labs – Quest
- Breathing Treatments Spirometry preparation and administration
- Update patient history and provide feedback to the physicians/providers as to any concerns or issues arising between appointments
- Manage patient charts to ensure clinical information is completed and filed appropriately and in a timely manner
- Patient safety, monitoring, and follow-up
- Perform emergency lifesaving procedures if necessary
- Answer communications and phone calls and respond to such by the end of the workday, sooner for urgent matters
- Complete requests for information from Administrative Staff promptly and effectively
- Abide by and promote HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
- Abide by,promote, and ensure regulatory compliance, including but not limited to OSHA, federal and state laws/regulations, etc.
- Participate in staff meetings
- Cross train and perform other office functions including phone triage, check-in/check-out, scheduling, or medical record documentation as directed by the Practice Manager
- Check inventory and order supplies for all sites
- Assess functionality of equipment
- Oversee and ensure regulatory compliance for all sites
- Provide input and feedback into clinical processes
- Provide input and feedback into risk management processes
- Cross-coverage of ambulatory infusion needs for Infusion Care and Shot Clinic clients
- Any other duties and/or special projects as assigned by Administrative Staff
- Possess the ability to deal with patients, visitors/relatives, co-workers, pharmacists/pharmacies, insurance company benefits coordinators/representatives, healthcare representatives, and physicians/providers with courtesy and respect
- Display a professional, outgoing, warm and helpful attitude
- Possess compassion for dealing with people who are ill and in need of help
- Plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks effectively and in a timely manner
- Work under pressure; assess, respond, and communicate issues in a timely manner

- Interpret and apply clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures
- Must be computer literate and able to operate electronic healthcare systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications with ease

Position Qualifications:
- Minimum Education Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
- Minimum Experience 3 years of experience in Physician office
Required Registration / License / Certification CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Preferred Education Medical Assistant Associate Degree
- Preferred Experience Prior knowledge of an electronic health record
- Prior knowledge of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology specialty
- Preferred Registration / License / Certification Medical Assistant Certification

Physical Requirements:
Physical Demands Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the coordinator/manage. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stopping. Repetitive motion or fixed position for prolonged periods. Employee must be capable of lifting up-to 25 pounds
