Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of (5) five years of solid experience.
- Demonstrated experience in data governance, data management, or similar roles.
- Strong facilitation skills with experience in leading meetings and workshops.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Extensive knowledge of data catalog tools such as Informatica Axon or EDC, Collibra, and Alation.
- Familiarity with data protection laws and compliance requirements.
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment and manage multiple projects
Roles and responsibilities: DATA GOVERNANCE ANALYST
- Facilitate and lead data governance meetings to ensure stakeholder alignment with data management standards.
- Generate functional and technical documentation, including detailed specifications for database fields, mappings to code, and application screen integrations.
- Responsible for cataloging the implementation and management of data utilizing tools such as Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) or Alation Data Catalog (ADC) to improve data quality and accessibility.
- Create and maintain data-sharing agreements adhering to compliance and legal standards.
- Standardizing Common Data Elements (CDE) across multiple systems to improve consistency and accuracy.
- Implement and define database field elements, ensuring scalability and structure mappings to application screens and backend code.
- Develop mapping data element strategies for applications, functionalities, and interfaces, ensuring adequate data integration and efficient user experience.
- Train business users on data governance policies and tools, including Informatica Axon, to ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence.
- Consistently monitor and evaluate data practices, identifying opportunities for enhancements and data-driven processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in data management such as DAMA DMBOK or CDMP.
- Practical experience with data governance tooling products, as stated above.
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving aptitude, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong initiative, ability to manage multiple projects, and strong follow-through skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be able to work collaboratively, collegially, and cooperatively with others in an environment where deliverables are potentially dependent on the output of others.
