The Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee the end-to-end PCB process, from requirements to design, prototyping, fabrication, and manufacturing.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the PCB process from start to finish.
- Refining technology inside sUAS designs.
- Providing expertise across products to meet requirements.
- Engaging in research, prototyping, testing, and validation.
- Supporting rapid product development cycles with 6-week sprints.
- Testing and debugging electromechanical equipment.
- Offering innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical hardware engineering and/or sustaining engineering.
- Expertise with high-density PCBs, blind and buried vias, and high-density interconnect (HDI) PCBs.
- 1+ year leading product development.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing medium-to-high quantities.
- 5+ years with test equipment (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope).
- 7+ years in debugging electromechanical systems.
- Expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer or similar EDA tools.
- Experience creating Technical Data Packages for manufacturing.
- Experience with layouts for single board computers using system-on-modules.
- 7+ years with power supply circuitry, motor control, and digital circuit design.
- 4+ years with PCIE routing, MIPI, USB3, and Flexible PCBs.
- Knowledge of common interfaces such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
- 7+ years supporting design reviews and product changes.
- 4+ years of experience in testing prototype hardware.
- Familiarity with design for DFM, DFA, DFMEA, etc.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
Bonus Qualifications:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience working with suppliers and vendors.
- Background in gimbal systems, UAVs, aerospace, or robotics (preferred).
- Experience with consumer electronics (e.g., IoT camera security systems, cell phones).
- Hands-on experience with image sensor IC design.
- Knowledge of embedded design and simulation for GNSS, wireless radios.
- Familiarity with C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers.
- Experience with drone systems and flight control, particularly for small uncrewed aerial systems.
- U.S. Military Veteran.
- Active security clearance (not required).
