Position: Wellwork Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Position Overview:

Are you passionate about well intervention and eager to contribute to a dynamic and safety-driven team? Our client are looking for a Wellwork Engineer for their Drilling & Completions department to lead their well intervention program and help them optimize operations in alignment with their corporate development plan.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Execute Workover Operations: Develop and optimize detailed Wellwork procedures, ensuring streamlined efficiency and thorough pre-job planning.
  • Manage Costs and Resources: Create AFEs, track daily costs, and identify opportunities to drive down expenses without compromising safety or operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and Improve Operations: Conduct post-job reviews to identify lessons learned, implement improvements, and document changes for future success.
  • Coordinate Scheduling and Logistics: Oversee wellwork scheduling, logistics, and materials coordination to meet timelines and reduce costs.
  • Lead Teams and Vendors: Manage wellsite supervisors and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to company values.
  • Ensure Rig and Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with key vendors to maintain rigs and ancillary equipment at optimal performance levels.
  • Drive HSER Excellence: Promote a strong Health, Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory (HSER) culture across all operations.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in petroleum engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5–10 years of experience in unconventional shale plays.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of workover rig and coil tubing operations.
  • Wireline expertise, including slickline, braided line, and e-line applications.
  • Experience in fishing operations, remedial cementing, tubing conveyed perforating, and more.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Proven ability to build and lead diverse teams.
  • Passion for cost control, innovation, and operational excellence.
