POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a newly created supply chain position focused on supporting the continued growth and profitability of the WSS segment of Foot Locker Inc. In this role you are responsible for the movement of goods into, between, and out of the WSS Distribution Centers. Product, supplies, and non-merchandise needs to flow from vendors to distribution centers and to stores on time and in full at the optimal cost. This is a leadership role that oversees the transportation operations strategy, design, and execution throughout the WSS Supply Chain. This role will directly manage and develop logistics coordinators who will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and execution of goods movement. Strong collaboration with the WSS Merchandise, Distribution, and Finance teams, as well as the Foot Locker Supply Chain teams is critical to successful outcomes. Strong performance in this role will position the candidate for roles of increasing responsibility in the broader Foot Locker supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ( May include but not limited to the following)
- Develop, plan and execute transportation strategies across the N.A. Supply Chain to meet or exceed cost and service goals.
- Responsible for creating and managing clear KPI’s that support organizational objectives.
- Identify, pursue, and implement service offerings that improve service metrics or reduce cost.
- Collaborate with business partners to develop accurate budgets and cost forecasts
- Establish trusting relationships with internal and external business partners to optimize and deliver creative solutions that support organizational goals.
- Manage N.A. carrier relationships, negotiations, and service execution for Full Truckload, Intermodal, LTL and Parcel movements.
- Partner with key merchandise vendors to optimize freight movement of goods
- Routinely perform analyses of transportation operational and cost metrics to drive problem solving and decision making
- Develop and implement tools, systems and processes to better manage freight cost and service
- Demonstrate ability to work on teams as well as independently with minimal supervision. High level of analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle multiple high priority projects and maintain day-to-day needs of the teams this position supports.
- Assist with projects and analyses that support new business initiatives as needed.
- Partner with Sr. Director of Distribution – Texas to create realistic capital plans and operating budgets for transportation operations
- Contribute to leadership on a variety of other strategic distribution center and cross functional supply chain initiatives as the business grows.

Education and / or Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics planning or related fields, preferably in a retail environment.
- Familiarity with lean concepts in manufacturing or supply chain operations
- Proven record of business results improvement and organization development
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, operations management, engineering or related area. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
