Job Description

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced manufacturing, with a focus on 3D printing systems, robotics, mechatronics, and mechanical design.

Familiarity using standard hand and powered shop tools.

Knowledge of use of CNC machining equipment.

Knowledge of various metal fabrication techniques such as welding and metal forming processes.

Track record of completed projects involving the design and implementation of automated manufacturing systems.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Fusion 360, etc.) and simulation tools for mechanical design and analysis.

Proficiency in basic programming using known languages such as Python, C, VB, etc.

Experience or ability to learn and use OLRP systems such as ROS, RoboDK, RobotStudio, etc.

Analyze complex issues and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.

Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.

Experience with project management methodologies and tools is valuable.

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to advanced manufacturing processes and equipment.



Responsibilities:

Design and optimize advanced manufacturing processes utilizing 3D printing systems, robotics, and mechatronics to meet production goals and quality standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for complex manufacturing issues.

Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to evaluate the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and equipment.

Assist in the design, development, and integration of automated systems and robotics into various manufacturing processes, including mechanical assembly, composites, and metal forming processes.

Provide technical assistance to manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize production workflows.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in advanced manufacturing, robotics, and mechatronics to enhance continuous improvement and innovation.

Develop and maintain documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and engineering drawings, to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Participate in project planning and carry out the work, including resource allocation, timeline management, and budget oversight.
