Position Summary :


Reporting to the VP of Sales and Professional Learning, The Director of Sales is responsible for growing JUMP Math’s reach and sales revenue in Canada and internationally. The Director of Sales creates and executes a disciplined and formalized sales strategy for both print and new and existing digital resources to support and exceed annual sales targets.


The position manages a sales team of Account Executives, works collaboratively with the VP of Sales and Professional Learning, and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members to significantly expand revenue and reach for JUMP Math and directly informs and impacts JUMP Math’s overall 3-year strategy beginning in 2025.


The Director of Sales also informs product innovation from a market and sales perspective to ensure it meets the needs of math educators. The Director of Sales also creates and nurtures relationships with key educational influencers, provides competitive analysis and has an innate ability to look at global educational math competitors (digital and print) as an opportunity for JUMP Math to innovate the program.


This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week) with benefits.


Location of Work: This role can be located anywhere in Canada and is intended to be mainly remote but you may be required to attend in person conferences and meetings at the JUMP Math office.


Salary Range: $94,200 to $113,100 based on experience

Key Accountabilities:


  • Create and articulate a clear and detailed sales strategy with tactics directed at new Canadian and international markets, including tutoring organizations, JUMP Math translation opportunities in Indigenous communities, the Atlantic Canadian provinces, English speaking school boards in Quebec and online remote learning communities
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision makers and those that can influence decision making to purchase JUMP Math print and digital resources
  • Develop a deep understanding of Canadian and global markets and their unique qualities as well as strategies/tactics for JUMP Math to grow
  • Manages a sales team
  • Creates and implements business development strategies, sales plans, and procedures to increase sales
  • Monitor and direct value-added sales activity as part of the overall sales strategy
  • Introduce a competitive analysis for ‘key players’ in mathematics education in Canada and in other relevant international markets
  • Adopt and apply a consultative sales culture across the Sales department that is 100% customer-focused to drive success
  • Learn about current technology & infrastructure in blended learning environments to better inform sales strategies
  • Participate & learn about partnerships that will support JUMP Math’s digitization vision and strategy
  • Work together & across all the departments at JUMP Math including Sales and Professional Learning, Publications, Marketing & Communications & Strategic Partnerships and Development
  • Prepare monthly written reports to share with the SLT and the Board of Directors
  • Travel will be required (approximately 25-30%)

Education and Experience (minimums):


  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma (preferably in Sales, Business Administration or relevant field), or equivalent work experience in the private or public sectors
  • 7 years of experience as a Sales Manager, Territory Manager or similar type of sales role
  • Experience with JUMP Math resources; either selling them, providing Professional Development or using them in a classroom is an asset
  • Demonstrates experience managing a sales team with the ability to coach, motivate and supervise others
  • Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce is an asset)
  • Previous experience as a teacher or certification in teaching is highly desirable, but not required
  • Able to work remotely (video, teleconference, phone, etc.) and to mentor and collaborate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

  • A deep knowledge of and experience with the products and professional development services offered at JUMP Math
  • Ability to understand the “structured inquiry’ approach/methodology unique to JUMP Math and the ability it to sell it
