Sensequake is currently seeking a senior structural engineer to join its team in downtown Montreal. A good portion of this role will be on business development and the candidate needs to have proper skillsets to succeed in such a multitask role.
Job description:
• Supervising projects and making sure they are delivered with high quality
• Writing and reviewing technical reports
• Presenting results to clients
• Participating in the sales and project management
• Working closely with the business team to pitch our technologies to engineers worldwide
• Writing proposals and respond to RFPs
• Analyzing the sensing data to extract modal properties using ambient vibration tests (Sensequake offers training)
• Integrity evaluation and damage detection of bridges based on vibration tests
• Seismic evaluation of buildings using vibration data based on Sensequake patented methodology and software (Sensequake offers training)
• Seismic time history analysis and FEMA P-58 damage evaluation
• Attending national or international trade shows and conferences
Skills required:
• Bachelor's degree in civil Engineering
• Strong social and presentation skills with excellent written and verbal communication
• Passion for technology, self-motivated and a team player
• Willing to travel in Canada and other countries
• 5 to 10 years of experience as a structural engineer
Assets:
• Bilingual in English and French
• Master or PhD in structural Engineering
• Strong background in bridge evaluation, inspection and design
• Strong background in earthquake engineering and non-linear dynamic analysis
• Knowledge about ambient vibration tests and modal identification
• Experienced to work with the following software: SAP2000, ETABS, Python, MATLAB
• Experience in structural design and retrofit schemes
• Knowledge of the NBCC and FEMA codes, especially Hazus & FEMA P-58
• OIQ membership
