Touché is a new French Bistro led by Chef Jeff Deloff, Sommelier Bob Leonard, and Bar Manager Adam Martinez. Located in the heart of Armory Square, Touché aims to bring locally sourced French inspired fare and genuine hospitality to Syracuse.

The Host position is incredibly important as it represents the guest's first and last impression of their experience at Touché.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Consistently presents positive and friendly first and last impression for all guests
- Greet all guests entering the restaurant (by last name if possible) and thank all guests leaving the restaurant, inviting them to return.
- Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible.
- Provide guests with beverage menus upon seating.
- Informs server and Manager of special requests, celebration of birthdays, anniversaries, known allergies, etc., as soon as a party is seated
- Appropriately and professionally answer phones & take messages at the host stand
- Maintain an organized floor by quickly and efficiently seating guests according to company standards
- Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
- Be able to utilize reservation service tablet.
- Receive and record guests' dining reservations.
- B e able to answer phone calls in a polite manner with our standard protocol
- Working with management on smooth guest service
- Assisting management and staff with private party set-up and ease of service
- Promotes the importance of teamwork and maintaining an efficient work situation
- Able to answer questions about ingredients and allergies, preparation, description of menu items
- Respect for fellow employees and guests
- Prioritize walking rather than showing guest to the table, bathroom, etc.
- Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Diplomatic and energized demeanor
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a Food & Beverage Service preferred
- Experience related to dealing with the general public preferred
- Food and wine knowledge is preferred and an eagerness to learn is expected
- Host experience is not required but looked upon very favorably.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must have excellent verbal communication skills
- Be able to effectively communicate, give and take constructive criticism, and work productively in a team dynamic
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic knowledge and understanding of math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand on feet for an extended period including using stairs regularly
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Dining Room, Bar, and Kitchen areas
