Roles and Responsibilities:


Job Title: Test Engineer II - EMC Compliance

Job Summary:

The Test Engineer II - EMC Compliance will play a critical role in testing and troubleshooting handheld mobile computing devices, barcode scanners, and RFID products to ensure compliance with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards. This role requires close collaboration with design and engineering teams to integrate EMC best practices, resolve compliance issues, and document findings to support product development and certification processes.

Key Responsibilities:

EMC Testing and Compliance:

  • Execute EMC testing schedules to meet compliance milestones and project deadlines.
  • Conduct EMC assessments, including radiated and conducted emissions, immunity tests, and other relevant evaluations.
  • Operate EMC test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, signal generators, amplifiers, and network analyzers.

Technical Support and Collaboration:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to align project goals and timelines.
  • Provide technical expertise on EMC design principles, including grounding, shielding, filtering, and PCB layout optimization.
  • Support the integration of EMC considerations into product designs during development phases.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Develop and review EMC-related documentation, including test plans, test reports, and technical files.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of testing processes, findings, and corrective actions.

Problem Solving and Process Improvement:

  • Analyze and resolve EMC issues identified during testing through troubleshooting and design modifications.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance EMC testing efficiency and product compliance.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in EMC testing and compliance in a lab environment.
  • Familiarity with international EMC standards, including CISPR, IEC, EN61000-4-2:11, FCC Part 15, and EN 55032.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with EMC testing equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, power meters, amplifiers, ESD simulators, and related tools.
  • Experience with EMC software platforms (e.g., TDK, EMC32, TILE) for test automation and data analysis.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
