Position Description:

Lyte Fiber is seeking a highly capable Bilingual (Spanish) NOC technician to work at our network operations center. Candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and escalating network incidents to maintain service and network performance levels. The candidate will also be responsible for interfacing with multiple internal and external teams, to ensure timely and accurate resolution of the reported or identified network issues.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Manage the network monitoring system (NMS) to include importing new devices into the NMS platform and ensuring that alerting of that NMS is properly managed/responded to.

·       Manage the ticket queue and ensure that all reported issues are documented and resolved in a timely manner.

·       Perform daily preventative maintenance checks on network infrastructure, coordinating efforts with field personnel to verify repairs and identify recurring system performance issues.

·       Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of Lyte Fiber’s FTTX carrier class network and systems.

·       Directly communicate with customers regarding issues, outages, and maintenance activities, maintaining detailed records within ticketing systems to facilitate efficient issue resolution.

·       Maintain network documentation in alignment with defined documentation standards to ensure network data integrity.

·       Facilitate network maintenance windows in accordance with documented Method of Procedures (MOPs).

·       Participate in on call shifts as needed in support of our 24x7 network operations

·       Adhere to incident management, problem management and monitoring response best practices.

·       Focus on minimizing the mean time to repair and expedite service restoration.

·       Provide root cause analysis of chronic or repeat trouble tickets.

·       Support field tech technicians that require escalated assistance for fiber-based services.

·       Perform configuration and acceptance of network equipment being deployed to support new service areas within an existing network.

Minimum Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

·       Minimum 2+ years of experience as NOC Technician, with a focus on event/alert management, incident, and change management processes in a XGS-PON based network delivering FTTX.

·       Work on site in Houston headquarters in the Network Operations Center.

·       Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required

·       Advance knowledge in networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless devices, and security protocols.

·       Proficiency in network protocols and technologies, encompassing TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, L2 and L3 VPNs, and routing protocols (IGP and BGP), with a strategic approach to network operations.

·       Highly experienced in XGS-PON based access networks and FTTX deployments.

·       Demonstrated proficiency in using Network Monitoring Systems.

·       Outstanding people skills, strong work ethic, and effective communication abilities.

·       Proactive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques, with a strategic mindset to anticipate and mitigate potential issues.

·       Ability to participate in an on-call rotation covering 24/7 support model, ensuring continuous availability and responsiveness to critical incidents.

·       Understanding of router/switch from Nokia, Cisco, Juniper or Equivalent.
