Technical Application Support Engineer – L3 Trade Application Production Support (Financial Services)

Hybrid: No – On-site role - Downtown Chicago - walking distance from Metra station

We are seeking a Technical Application Support Engineer – L3 Trade Application Production Support contract position with a leading investment bank in downtown Chicago. The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience, ideally in a development role transitioning to application support, and a strong understanding of Java , SQL , Unix shell scripting , and PCF . Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L3 production support for critical applications, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Java , SQL , and Unix shell scripting .
• Support and maintain PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) environments for various applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation of production systems.
• Work with traders and other stakeholders to ensure applications are performing to the highest standards.
• Handle high-pressure situations, manage incidents, and prioritize tasks in a production environment.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience in a development role transitioning into L3 production support .
• Strong technical expertise in Java , SQL , and Unix shell scripting .
• Experience with PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) .
• Background in Financial Services (experience doesn’t need to be specific to trading or capital markets).
• Professional demeanor, able to represent the team in a professional manner when working with traders and other stakeholders.
• Ability to speak to your experience clearly and confidently in interviews.
