This position is part of the group that is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, and administration of equipment that comprises the KANWIN Network (including voice, data, wireless and video). As a Network Specialist this person will be responsible for Tier 2 support of the KANWIN Network. This position will also be involved in the staging and deployment of any new or replacement equipment to be installed on the KANWIN Network.
Required skills, qualifications, and education:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Three or more years’ experience supporting an enterprise network environment, specializing in Cisco equipment.
· Experience in Monitoring, Troubleshooting, Problem Resolution, and Documentation in both LAN and WAN environments
· Experience in using packet capture tools to interpret the data and troubleshoot issues
· Experience in troubleshooting OSPF, or other dynamic routing protocols
· Experience in working with remote customers to resolve issue they may be experiencing
· Experience in working with professionals in areas outside of networking (Security, Application Support, Server Administration)
· Solid verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
· Participation in an on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience supporting a Cisco Voice over IP environment
· Experience with BGP and MPLS in a service provider environment
· Experience supporting a Cisco Wireless environment
· Experience with SDN
· Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time accordingly
