About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with expertise in Oracle and PL/SQL to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes to support critical business operations. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into effective and efficient data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using Oracle PL/SQL, Snowflake and other relevant technologies.
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files, into Oracle databases.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and partitioning.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues.
- Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand their data requirements.
- Document data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Stay current with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL, including SQL, Snowflake stored procedures, functions, and packages.
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL methodologies.
- Experience with data modeling and database design.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
- Experience with data quality and data profiling tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
