Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and versatile System Administrator to join our client's dynamic IT team. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy professional with a strong generalist IT background. You will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of the company’s IT systems, networks, and infrastructure while providing exceptional support to internal users.
This role is hybrid in Sandy Springs, GA - 3 days in office per week.
Key Responsibilities
User Support:
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT-related issues via ticketing systems, email, phone, or chat platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly, escalating advanced problems to senior staff when needed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining accurate records of support activities.
System Administration:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and credentials across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other platforms.
- Perform server configuration, routine monitoring, and maintenance, ensuring systems operate optimally.
- Support the setup and troubleshooting of IT hardware, including PCs, printers, mobile devices, and network equipment.
- Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Network Management:
- Monitor and maintain the organization’s LAN, WAN, and VPN connections.
- Diagnose connectivity issues and implement solutions to maintain a secure and stable network.
- Collaborate on firewall configurations and network security protocols.
Software and Applications:
- Deploy, update, and manage company-approved applications and software solutions.
- Ensure timely rollout of patches and updates to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including policies, procedures, and user guides.
- Support compliance initiatives by ensuring systems meet security and operational standards.
- Track and report on IT service delivery metrics and adherence to established service-level agreements (SLAs).
IT Operations:
- Assist in defining and implementing security protocols to safeguard company assets.
- Participate in vendor selection and manage third-party service providers.
- Contribute to strategic IT projects and initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in IT support or systems administration roles, preferably within an MSP or similar environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems for clients and servers.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with backup solutions like Veeam.
- Knowledge of IT service management tools like Jira Service Desk is advantageous.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and escalate tasks effectively.
Work Environment and Requirements
- Flexibility to work varied shifts supporting multiple time zones.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as required.
- Occasional travel to support remote sites or projects.
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
