Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer Datacenter Engineer/Linux Admin with a versatile skill set to join our development and operations team. In this role, you will implement, operate, and support virtualization, networking, and server technologies to ensure efficient data center functionality. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Linux and Windows administration, networking protocols, and virtualization technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for virtualization and networking issues.
- Administer and document server systems for new and existing clients.
- Support 24/7 production systems, including on-call availability.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system or performance issues for clients and data center systems.
- Manage patching and reboot schedules for Windows and Linux systems.
- Maintain client HAProxy load balancers on Red Hat-based distributions (Alma/Rocky).
- Monitor and optimize virtualized network performance.
- Deploy and manage VPN solutions for clients.
- Collaborate with the NOC team to enhance monitoring and proactive responses.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in Windows and Linux administration.
- Proficiency with SELinux, Firewalld, IPtables , and web-related hosting services (cPanel, SQL, SMTP Relays, DNS).
- Strong understanding of network concepts and protocols (TCP, UDP, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, SIP/RTP).
- Ability to troubleshoot network communication issues at the packet level.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and backup processes.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell .
- Knowledge of network security technologies (e.g., Sophos, Fortinet, NGFW, IPS).
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and change management processes.
Highly Desirable:
- Certifications such as CCNA , LFCS , RHCSA , or Linux+ .
- Experience with storage solutions like TrueNAS, Ceph, NVME/TCP .
- Advanced KVM expertise.
