Position Overview:
Are you passionate about ensuring seamless operations in mission-critical environments? We’re seeking an Operations Awareness Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in maintaining system health, optimizing performance, and ensuring operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive System Monitoring: Use cutting-edge monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Zabbix) to identify and mitigate potential disruptions, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Incident and System Management: Collaborate with teams to analyze, resolve, and prevent critical service interruptions, driving continuous improvement in system reliability.
- Incident Response and Root Cause Analysis: Act as a key player during major incidents, managing escalations, and delivering detailed root cause analyses to prevent future occurrences.
- Process Optimization: Continuously refine monitoring and alerting processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create clear and concise technical documentation to support processes, incidents, and system changes.
What You Bring:
- Proven Expertise: 3-5 years of experience in event monitoring, alerting, or incident management in high-availability environments.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in distributed systems and administration (Windows, Unix, Linux, VMWare).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Zabbix, or similar).
- DevOps application performance tuning and familiarity with SDLC processes.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Node.js, Bash/sh, or similar).
- Working knowledge of ITIL best practices and incident management frameworks.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with a focus on mission-critical operations.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to effectively document processes and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- ITIL V3 or V4 certification.
- A track record of improving monitoring and alerting frameworks to optimize performance.
