Systems Administrator
Farmer Holding Company is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT department. We’re seeking an experienced Systems Administrator who’s eager to further develop technological skills on a nationwide stage. This person will protect our critical systems and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in developing the overall IT strategy.
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 2+ years recent computer, server, and network administration/troubleshooting experience
- Proficient knowledge of MS Server OS, MS Active Directory, DHCP, DNS
- Proficient knowledge of Azure, Exchange Online, SharePoint/Teams and other MS systems
- Proficient knowledge of computer and server hardware
- Proficient with Virtualization (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
- Proficient with backup infrastructure (BDR SAN) and backup software(s)
- Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
- Monitor data-center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, internet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
- Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups
- Ability to complete computer and network installation and provide support to multiple client locations
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve various hardware, software, and network problems
- Assist with the install and configure new PC hardware and software on desktops, laptops, and peripherals such as phones, printer, scanners, external drives, and other related hardware
- Perform basic computer wired and wireless network installation and troubleshooting
- Develop and create user-friendly documentation for job processes, procedures, and techniques
- Maintain proficiency in PC technical fields of expertise
- Track and maintain accurate inventory of equipment
- Identify areas of improvement in processes and systems by testing new hardware and software
- Provide basic instructions on how to use various end user equipment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred
- Proven experience working in a technical support role
