Position Overview:

As an entry-level Utility Pole Framer at our Cameron facility, you will play a key, hands-on role in manufacturing Utility Pole products to established specifications in a productive, efficient and safe manner. The Framer inspects and prepares utility poles by cutting, drilling, branding, and tagging them to meet specific standards before they undergo treatment and are delivered to our Utility company customers.

Key Duties:

• Inspects and verifies quality and classification of all round stock to ANSI, ASTM or Corporate standards
• Operates hand and framing tools to cut, drill, gain, brand, tag, clean and prepare poles for treatment
• Documents and reports material processed
• Maintains tools, equipment, supplies and work area
• Assists in inspection of all round stock products
• Assists in receipt of materials, tallying, identification, records and information
• Assists in operation of full length and deep incisor as required
• Operates pole tag machine to manufacture aluminum tags as required
• Participates and contributes to company safety program
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to use basic hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, framing tools)
• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments, instructions, and production documents
• Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and documenting product information
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Capacity to stand, bend, and/or kneel for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions
• Understanding of (or willingness to learn) safety protocols and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience a plus, but not required for this entry-level role
