Our Wyomissing office is looking to hire a Civil Designer to support our growing team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects within the critical infrastructure industry. Key Responsibilities:
- In coordination with engineers and other designers, produce construction drawings and plan sets to company standards using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Identify utilities, develop as-built plans, and set up plans with proposed improvements working with the engineer’s layout.
- Perform thorough quality control edits (red lines) of construction documents as directed by the design team and utilizing the correct project and/or company standards.
- Work closely with design leads and engineers in recommending the best use of CAD tools to achieve project objectives, and troubleshoot and resolve issues with CAD tools.
- Support the project team with a willingness to take on more responsibilities as your experience evolves.
Capabilities and Credentials:
- 0-3 years of experience performing civil designs utilizing field surveys.
- The educational requirement of technical training is preferred or equivalent experience.
- Industry-specific experience in pipeline or utility is preferred; will accept land development.
- Ability to work on multiple projects under the guidance of project managers, engineers, and lead designers.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents such as drawings, sketches, and 3D representations to exercise judgment within the defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Working knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Understanding of National CAD Standards is a plus but not required.
- Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
