CNC Screw/Swiss Machinist
Location: Fullerton California
Position summary:
Set-up and operates one or more CNC Screw Machines to perform a series of machining operations, such as boring, threading, facing, grooving, drilling, and turning.
Essential Functions:
- Works from routers and standard work orders to produce parts to specifications.
- Loads bar feeders and monitors overall machine operations.
- Machines parts to specifications using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, thread go and no-go gauges.
- Receives bar stock and maintains finished goods Kanbans in the screw machine area.
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to perform machining operations, working from routers and standard work orders.
- Ability to understand oral and written communications.
- Must read blue prints and have a good mathematical background.
- Must be capable of producing first articles.
Education
- Five (5) years experience set-up and operating CNC Swiss-Type screw machines.
- Physical demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally
- required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather
conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is moderate. The factory floor is in the same building as the office.
