Our client, a well-established machine manufacturing company in Pomona, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Safety/Maintenance Supervisor to lead their team. About the Role:
- Coordinate and implement safety rules and regulations, ensuring adherence to OSHA guidelines and fostering a safe and healthy work culture.
- Maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), oversee Workers’ Compensation incident logs, and develop safety compliance reward systems.
- Plan and schedule the work of Maintenance Workers, establishing performance expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of physical structures, utility systems, equipment (including forklifts), and outside grounds.
- Present safety training materials and videos to new hires during orientation and coordinate monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of the plant to monitor adherence to safety rules, report infractions, and ensure the elimination of industrial accidents.
- Oversee fire safety inspections, hazardous material inspections, and coordinate with external agencies for compliance certifications.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies; obtain bids and direct contracted projects to ensure compliance with specifications.
Qualifications:
- Supervisory background in a manufacturing environment with experience managing a safety program required.
- Basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical, repairs, and painting.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; bilingual in Spanish is a must.
- Strong understanding of OSHA guidelines, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to supervise staff, provide constructive feedback, and make hiring decisions while adhering to company policies.
