The Senior Contracts Manager provides contracts leadership and expertise for project teams. This includes providing the necessary support on pre- and post-contractual management, Terms & Conditions of the contract and the management of claims. It also involves identification and management of risk in support of the contract or project.

Essential Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to project teams on a day-to-day basis regarding notices to subcontractor / client, change orders, amendments, contract T&Cs, contract administration, and customer contractual issues.
- Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Provide guidance and clarification on contract terms and financial processes as needed.
- Perform contractual analysis of contractual claims and issues; develop risk mitigation and negotiation strategies, present alternatives and recommendations for leadership support; Apply problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles to issue resolution, participating directly in customer negotiations as needed
- Work closely with legal counsel, obtaining and implementing legal review as appropriate
- Review, evaluate, and negotiate subcontract agreements related to renewable energy projects, ensuring all terms and conditions are aligned with company policies and industry standards.
- Review contract language and identify how it affects invoicing, payment schedules, and overall financial management. Work closely with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely invoicing in accordance with the contractual terms.
- Ensure all subcontractor invoices comply with the terms of the contract, including scope of work, payment milestones, and agreed-upon deliverables. Identify and resolve discrepancies in invoicing or payments.
- Assist in identifying potential risks related to subcontractor performance, payment issues, or contract interpretation and work with legal and project management teams to mitigate these risks.
- Maintain detailed records of subcontract agreements, amendments, and related documents. Prepare regular reports on subcontractor performance, invoicing status, and financial compliance for senior management.
- Continuously assess and improve the processes related to contract management, invoicing, and subcontractor performance to streamline operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university strongly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience of directly related contract experience
- Proven experience in reviewing, negotiating, and managing subcontracts, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
- Ability to maintain and monitor metrics and KPI’s on company systems to ensure adequate monitoring through company systems.
- Contracts T&Cs knowledge with experience negotiating contract language and/or contractual disputes.
- Ability to support in drafting and follow-up of correspondence with stakeholders, managing formal communication with client, key partners and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and/or other clean energy technologies.
- Demonstrates contract management skill and analysis acumen to provide focused advice in commercial / transactional context
- Outstanding writing and oral communication skills, and ability to influence
- Ability to concurrently support multiple issues and clients
- Power industry contracting experience interfacing directly with customers or prime contractors
