Title: Automation Technician
Job Summary:
The automation technician serves as a build resource to engineering and is charged with creation and maintenance of automation related machinery.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Automation Technician will be responsible for the building and maintaining of custom electro — mechanical systems. Critical responsibilities include PLC programming, application of servo systems, robotic application and programming, electrical panel layout and creation and application of vision systems. Automation Technician will play a key role in the realization of one of a kind, custom manufacturing, and inspection equipment to meet the unique needs of company’s wide product range. To be successful, automation technicians should be willing to learn and collaborate with other team members.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform additional tasks as required such as:
- Train operators to run and maintain machinery.
- Serve as consultant to design Engineering for manufacturability of products.
Required Skills/Abilities :
- PLC Programming.
- HMI Programming.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Electrical Panel layout and building.
- Robotic Application and Programming.
- Vision System Set Up.
- Application of Servo Systems.
- Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Electrician license or High School Degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation.
- Must be a team player who is well organized, with good communication skills, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
