Summary (Position Description): This position serves as a key member of the Human Resources department, responsible for a wide range of HR functions with a primary focus on weekly payroll processing using the Paylocity system. Their main responsibility being to process the weekly payroll in Paylocity, maintain employee files and uniform program as well as help with employee recruitment, issues and moral. As part of their role, they will serve as a contact between the HR department and the rest of the organizations in regard to Payroll issues. This position is also responsible for maintaining the HRIS system in regard to payroll, assisting with time and labor, performance review process, recruitment, onboarding, policy implementation, and general HR/office duties.
Duties & Tasks:
• Prepare and process weekly payrolls in Paylocity while maintaining detailed payroll and timekeeping records (absences, bonus, leaves, etc.).
• Support all internal and external Payroll related inquiries or requests.
• Maintain HRIS system and compile internal management reports as needed.
• Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.
• Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
• Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.).
• Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
• Oversee Employee Uniform Program
• Assist with performance management procedures.
• If needed, assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, interviewing, performing reference checks and issuing offer letters.
• If needed, conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees and oversee their onboarding process within HRIS of the Paylocity.
• Help in coordinating HR projects (Wellness, meetings, training, surveys etc.) with rest of team.
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and build morale and retention.
• Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practice.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned by management.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
• Strong HRIS and payroll system experience especially with the Paylocity payroll system.
• Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
• Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in conflict management and understanding of employee relationship
• Meticulous attention to detail.
Requirements:
• Associates degree in Human Resources (or related field) or experience in lieu of education.
• 4+ years of experience Paylocity Payroll experience.
• At least 1 year experience as an HR Assistant (essential).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
• Ability to work collectively with others within the organization.
Work Environment:
• This job is performed in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
