DevOps Engineer
Overview:
The DevOps Engineer role supports the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J), the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record. GCCS-J provides commanders and warfighters with a fused battlespace view through an integrated system, supporting joint and multinational operations. The system enhances operational capabilities through sustainment, synchronization, and the incorporation of emerging technologies and agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and design DevOps workflows, covering the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Automate DevSecOps pipelines, incorporating cybersecurity seamlessly into the development process.
- Develop and implement test automation frameworks as part of DevOps delivery.
- Ensure effective monitoring in the DevOps environment.
- Collaborate in an Agile development process, contributing to requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Lead technical investigations, provide expert advice, recommend solutions, and support the integration of GCCS-J functionalities into new baselines.
- Bring structure to undefined environments with a proactive attitude and innovative problem-solving approach.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, with expertise in DevOps process automation throughout the SDLC.
- Proficiency in designing and architecting environments for software application development.
- Experience managing change requests across development, staging, and production environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to new procedures with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience working in a collaborative team environment.
- U.S. citizenship with a final Secret clearance.
