Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for precision and mechanical systems? We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team here at Compu Dynamics!

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides leadership on estimating processes, methodology, and tools that span multiple business units.
  2. Comprehension of the desired technical knowledge items at a level that allows mentoring and training of company staff.
  3. Participates in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  4. Evaluates data and metrics to propose new strategies to improve project delivery and develop reports that portray and give external stakeholders visibility into the project landscape.
  5. Establishes and nurtures relationships with industry professionals, suppliers, prime contractors, subcontractors, public agencies, and internal customers.
  6. Supports other department personnel as required
  7. Reviews RFP’s/Design Docs and prepares RFI’s as needed.
  8. Attends Pre-Bid Meetings and/or Site walks to ascertain project requirements and risks.
  9. Prepares written estimates, coordinated with other trade estimates, for clients based on labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses.
  10. Assists in the assembly of project schedule with mechanical systems installation timelines.
  11. Manages pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
  12. Maintains accurate cost records and database of mechanical systems costs.
  13. Creates the project BOM for the estimate and submit for pricing from vendors or subcontractors, including piping and ductwork systems and components.
  14. Formulates contingency plans and effectively manages risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
  15. Attends estimate review meetings with the Leadership Team.
  16. Communicates with field supervision and operations leadership about delays and any other issues that must be communicated to clients.
  17. Maintains an elevated level of professionalism with clients, vendors, and colleagues; works to establish a positive working relationship.
  18. Reviews design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
  19. Provides timely and completed documentation of work performed.
  20. Operates vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environment

Required Education and Experience:

  1. 7+ years of Mechanical Estimating experience
  2. Working knowledge of electrical and control systems supporting the Mechanical equipment and overall system operation.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Applied Science or Architecture or equivalent work experience.
  2. 3+ Commercial general contractor experience
  3. SCIF Construction experience a plus
  4. Active Security Clearance a plus (or ability to obtain clearance)
