Situated in Downtown’s Second Street District, Austin Proper Hotel & Residences is the newest luxury lifestyle hotel in Austin, just steps from Lady Bird Lake, the legendary Austin City Limits music venue and nearby boutiques. With inspiring interiors by Kelly Wearstler and culinary offerings in collaboration with MML Hospitality, Austin Proper offers 238 rooms and suites, a dedicated spa and fitness center, and 9,500 square feet of meeting and event spaces, including a rooftop pool deck offering small-batch tequilas and majestic lake views. Anything less just wouldn’t be Proper.


Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Manager oversees housekeeping functions and staff daily to ensure property guest rooms, public spaces and employee areas are clean and well-maintained. The Housekeeping Manager works with the Housekeeping team to successfully execute all housekeeping operations and strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department.


Responsibilities/Duties

  • Establish effective and clear guidelines ensuring housekeeping team understands expectations and parameters
  • Ensure guest rooms and all accommodations, public areas and colleague areas are cleaned according to brand standards
  • Create, maintain and ensure compliance with all housekeeping standards and procedures
  • Assist with purchasing supplies, inventory controls, supplies, chemicals and equipment
  • Direct associates to strive for continuous improvement and excellence in all areas of responsibility
  • Adhere to an effective inspection program including rooms, public areas, associate work areas, storage areas and laundry areas.
  • Understand and communicate to colleagues the operating and maintenance procedures of all departmental equipment
  • Effectively respond to and handle guest problems and complaints


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role in a luxury or lifestyle hotel
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organization & time management skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Flexible schedule; willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, weekends and holidays


Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
