We are currently seeking a Customs and Trade Compliance Manager for a client in Cranston RI Hybrid and or Boston Area.
Duration: Direct Hire
Location: Cranston RI Area Hybrid up into Boston Area
Pay Rate: $100-130K DOE plus Bonus
DESCRIPTION
•Secure compliance with trade and customs regulations for (Region).
•Work with stakeholders in the region to identify gaps and opportunities, develop plans and drive and lead projects/ actions to close gaps and realize opportunities.
•Oversee all imports and exports and customs special procedures related but not limited to the FTZ and ensure compliance.
•Ensure the integrity of the trade data (HTS, COO, Preferential Origin) used in SAP, set-up processes to regularly monitor the quality, identify risks and drive actions to reduce risks.
•Organize knowledge sharing with local market teams, legal and GBS teams to ensure changes in processes and regulations can be translated into the business to ensure flawless execution.
•Own the relationships to external parties such as brokers and agents in the region and ensure all processes related to import / export are timely, accurately and meet our quality requirements
•Manage the relationship with local regulators to apply for binding rulings with customs on COO, tariff classifications or valuation decisions.
•Act as a single point of for local, regional and global teams when it comes to C&TC in the (Region)
•Ensure audit readiness, ensure relevant data is stored physically and digitally in line with individual country regulations, be the key partner for local teams to oversee and manage audits.
•Ensure process are mapped, documented and organized in a professional manner, ensure that SOP’s are in place and updated on a needs base with external vendors, brokers and agents
•Report on risks and opportunities and monitor overall performance of the customs and trade compliance activities in the region by providing adequate reporting and KPI’s.
Education:
•University degree, bachelor/master, APICS certification preferred, certified customs broker
•Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a customs / trade compliance or related consulting role.
