The Credit Analyst supports the firm and Credit & Collections Manager by conducting risk assessments, credit evaluations for new client engagements, and monitoring performance related to collections.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing policies that require credit analysis for new matters to minimize risk.
• Partner with the Accounting, Client Engagement, and Collections teams to investigate credit exposure and evaluate credit for new/ongoing client matters.
• Research and assess the creditworthiness of clients.
• Approve the opening of new matters daily, identifying those requiring further analysis.
• Collaborate with Attorneys, Department chairs, General Counsel, and Credit/Collections manager on risk assessment and evaluation of active client matters.
• Conduct ongoing reviews of receivables and work-in-progress (WIP) relative to established budgets.
• Develop and/or review data models for risk analysis and provide suggestions and feedback to improve processes based on analysis
Qualifying Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting and/or finance experience. Prior experience with credit evaluation or analysis a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite(Excel, Word, and Outlook). Experienced Excel user including extensive spreadsheet development and data analysis preferred.
• Experience with accounting/billing software and the ability to learn multiple law firm applications
