Job Description

Human Resource Director

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Director to join our client, a locally managed community-sized bank. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, this individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s HR strategy, fostering a collaborative culture, and serving as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team. Our environment combines a legacy of excellence with a younger, vibrant leadership team, offering a unique opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a setting that is strategic but not overly corporate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy
  • Act as a strategic business partner and advisor to the executive leadership team.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to align HR initiatives with organizational priorities and foster a unified company culture.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Drive initiatives that support organizational culture, employee engagement, and workforce planning.
  • Department Management
  • Oversee all aspects of the HR function, including compliance, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Manage one direct report focused on talent acquisition and hiring activities.
  • Assess and, if necessary, build out the team by adding clerical/administrative support for payroll and benefits administration.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Proven ability to operate as a strategic partner while managing day-to-day HR functions.
  • Strong expertise in developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Experience with HRMIS, with UKG proficiency preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.

Why Join The Bank?

  • A rich history of more than a century as a family-run institution.
  • A forward-thinking, vibrant executive team dedicated to innovation and collaboration.
  • A work environment that values strategic thinking while avoiding overly corporate formalities.
  • The opportunity to shape and lead the HR function in a growing organization.

Compensation & Benefits:

The bank offers a competitive compensation package, including benefits such as 401(k), medical, dental, Paid Time Off (PTO), and participation in an ESOP program.
