Scott Humphrey has partnered with a reputable subcontractor in Temecula, CA, to help find their new Glass and Glazing Estimator as the company continues to grow. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for commercial glass and glazing projects, analyzing plans and specifications to determine material and labor costs. The Glass and Glazing Estimator will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets. A strong background in commercial glass and glazing estimating is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize advanced estimating software (such as OST and QuickBid) to prepare accurate glass and glazing estimates.
• Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to develop pricing strategies.
• Provide precise estimates for various commercial glass and glazing project types and scopes, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
• Demonstrate expertise in glazing systems, including curtain walls, storefronts, windows, doors, and other related materials.
• Independently manage the full bidding process, from initial estimate through to final review.
• Meet bid deadlines consistently, ensuring timely delivery of proposals.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of qualifications, exclusions, and conditions for all bids.
• Establish strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing for materials.
• Apply creative and strategic approaches to position the company for successful bids.
• Review contracts for scope accuracy and bid amount before submission.
• Mentor and assist in the development of junior team members and trainees.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals and ensure alignment with project scope and goals.
• Monitor projects from award to completion, ensuring estimates are accurate throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project management and business operations.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Glass and Glazing Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Proficiency with QuickBid and On-Screen Take-Off (OST) estimating software.
• Advanced knowledge of glazing systems and materials, including curtain walls, storefronts, windows, doors, and related finishes.
• Strong understanding of the bidding process, industry regulations, and cost estimation.
• Ability to review and interpret contract terms, including scope of work, qualifications, and bid amounts.
• Capable of working in fast-paced environments with occasional noise from construction activities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
