Job Description

The Quality Engineer reports directly to the VP of Operations and is responsible for ensuring quality compliance, supporting the Quality Management System (QMS), and driving process improvements across the organization. This role leads root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives across multiple facilities, applying Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools. The Quality Engineer will investigate, recommend, and lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across the organization. The position requires minimal supervision and is expected to work independently with a high degree of responsibility.


Essential Duties:

Documentation and Reporting:

·     Lead in the development and maintenance of quality documentation and records. Maintain IATF/ISO document control.

·     Prepare reports on quality findings, including non-conformance reports, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.

·     Maintain and calculate various metrics.

·     Create PPAP documentation and participate in APQP process

·     Submit annual documentation.

·     Record and maintain detailed inspection and testing data.

Quality Control:

·        Monitor and control the quality of production processes and products.

·        Identify and analyze quality issues and deviations and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.

·        Perform Internal Audits of IATF/ISO Management System. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

·        Conduct root cause analyses and corrective action for internal and external rejections.

Inspection and Testing:

·     Manage testing equipment and gages to ensure calibrations are completed / compliant.

·     Perform routine and non-routine inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products according to established standards and procedures.

·     Utilize precision measuring instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy.

·     Perform Gage R&R and capability studies.

Collaboration:

·        Work closely with production and engineering teams to address quality concerns and implement improvements.

·        Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements based on inspection results and industry best practices.

Training and Support:

·        Assist in training production staff on quality standards and procedures.

·        Provide support during internal and external quality audits.
