Location : Onsite in either Phoenix, AZ or Overland Park, KS


Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. This senior-level position is responsible for addressing a range of technical, security, and compliance needs for our clients. The ideal candidate will work to safeguard information system assets and networks by identifying, mitigating, and resolving potential security threats and vulnerabilities. The role requires strong knowledge of security principles, compliance concepts, and security best practices. The Cybersecurity Engineer will also contribute to ongoing projects, manage incidents, and participate in an on-call rotation. This position reports to the Director of Cybersecurity Services.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Define access privileges, control structures, and resources to protect systems.
  • Review security vulnerabilities, recommend solutions, plan, implement, and test resolutions to ensure compliance.
  • Identify security issues by recognizing abnormalities and reporting violations.
  • Assess current security status, evaluate trends, anticipate future needs, and communicate recommendations to management.
  • Conduct periodic security audits to identify violations and inefficiencies.
  • Implement and maintain security controls based on NIST guidelines and other industry frameworks.
  • Monitor and remediate issues within the aiSIEM portal.
  • Manage the aiSIEM platform, whitelisting, and collaborate with support teams to troubleshoot issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SecureWorkplace tickets, ensuring clear documentation and updating knowledge base materials as needed.
  • Prepare regular performance reports, document progress, and communicate system status and issues to clients through update calls or meetings.
  • Ensure timely responses to client needs.
  • Uphold quality service standards within the organization.
  • Mentor Tier 1 staff and assist with escalated tickets.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity trends through workshops, publications, and educational opportunities.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving related results.
  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures and conduct audits in line with company policies.
  • Perform additional technical tasks as assigned, including aiSIEM CCE configuration, firewall settings, and general security hardening for networks and cloud services.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in Intune MDM rollout projects or configuration tasks.
  • Support the closure of compliance audit deficiencies and risk analysis gaps.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize situations based on severity or urgency for effective remediation.
  • Recognize repetitive tasks that can be automated for efficiency.
  • Extensive IT knowledge, including hardware, software, networks, and awareness of current cybersecurity trends.
  • At least two years of experience as a System Engineer or in a related role, with familiarity with Windows OS.
  • Ability to analyze IT systems logically, identifying both strengths and weaknesses.
  • Forensic approach to solving challenges.
  • Understanding of hacker methodologies and the evolving nature of cybercrime.
  • Proficiency in identifying vulnerabilities within IT infrastructures.
  • Strong respect for data protection, confidentiality, and ethical principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various audiences.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage priorities effectively.


Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Cybersecurity (preferred).
  • Proven experience with threat hunting, SIEM tuning, and event remediation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of security baselines and compliance requirements.
