Role Overview:

The Owner’s Engineer acts as the primary liaison for Consumers Energy throughout project lifecycles. You’ll ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget by coordinating with engineers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee design, procurement, and construction of gas compressor station projects
• Review project designs to ensure compliance with safety standards and industry codes
• Manage external engineers, suppliers, and contractors to meet project goals
• Develop and enforce engineering specs, equipment standards, and construction practices
• Travel to sites up to 3-5 days per week to provide on-site support

Key Skills & Knowledge Needed:

• Experience with natural gas compressor station equipment
• Familiarity with pipeline safety regulations (CFR 49 Part 192) and ASME/API standards
• Experience with procurement processes, RFPs, and technical documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited)
• 5+ years of engineering experience
