We are partnering with a client in Burbank, CA, in search of a highly skilled Safety & Reliability Engineer III to join their team and work on cutting-edge systems shaping the future of aerospace.
About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will perform safety, reliability, and maintainability analyses on groundbreaking aerospace products. You'll contribute to engineering design reviews and ensure safety and reliability objectives are met to deliver top-tier performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement system safety requirements.
- Conduct safety analyses for brake control systems following industry standards (e.g., SAE ARP 4761 and MIL-STD-882E).
- Perform reliability analyses of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components using methods such as HDBK-217Plus and MIL-HDBK-217F.
- Calculate metrics such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals (MTBUR).
- Present safety, reliability, and maintainability analysis findings in design reviews (PDR and CDR).
- Conduct maintainability analyses and generate Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) based on MIL-HDBK-470A and MIL-HDBK-472.
- Perform Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) at both component and functional levels.
- Conduct fault detection and isolation analyses.
- Collaborate in system, hardware, and software design requirements reviews.
- Recommend improvements to enhance safety and reliability.
- Adhere to internal guidelines, configuration management processes, and engineering change protocols.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Experience:
- 5+ years in Safety & Reliability Engineering
- Aerospace industry experience
- Expertise in ARP 4754, ARP 4761, MIL-HDBK-217F, HDBK-217Plus, and MIL-STD-882E
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Knowledge:
- Digital and analog electronic circuit analysis
- Embedded systems safety analysis
- System and software requirements assessment
- Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) software such as CAFTA
- Single Event Effects analysis
Skills:
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and common office software
- Ability to develop Safety, Reliability, and Maintainability analysis documents
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Safety, Reliability, and Maintainability Analysis for commercial and military aircraft systems
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
Why This Role?
Compensation: $125,100 - $146,600 (flexible based on experience).
