Civil Engineers - two (2) roles; Structural and Land Development

Introduction: We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer(s) with expertise in Structural Engineering and/or Land Development to join our clients dynamic team. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and being a part of overseeing the project lifecycle of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, and experience dealing with internal stakeholders and external clients.

We have two (2) active roles open; Structural vertical Civil Engineer and Land Development planning and design. The client will consider those who are an EIT or P.E. licensed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Structural Engineering (if applicable):
  • Design and analyze structural elements, including foundations, beams, columns, and other load-bearing systems.
  • Perform calculations to ensure the safety, stability, and sustainability of structures.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents for structural components.
  • Conduct site assessments to ensure structures meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate structural systems into broader construction projects.
  • Land Development (if applicable):
  • Plan, design, and manage land development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
  • Develop grading plans, drainage systems, utility layouts, and road networks.
  • Perform feasibility studies and site evaluations to assess land suitability.
  • Coordinate with zoning boards, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage permitting processes and ensure projects meet local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead project teams and collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
  • Review and approve project plans, reports, and specifications.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues related to design, budget, or schedule.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction quality and adherence to design specifications.
  • Identify and resolve design and construction challenges to ensure project success.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and offer solutions.
  • Present technical reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Licensing/Certification:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain within a specified time. EIT's will be strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on structural design and/or land development projects.
  • Proven experience working on both large-scale infrastructure projects and smaller development projects.
  • Experience using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SAP, or similar design tools.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, standards, and codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Familiarity with local building codes, environmental regulations, and zoning laws.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as necessary.
