Title: Field Service Technician

As a Field Service/Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in installing and maintaining our equipment both at our customer sites in the Phoenix region. This position requires a strong combination of customer service, electrical, and mechanical aptitude. The position will be based at a customer site in the Goodyear area and travel to various customer sites in the region will be required. Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to installed systems. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance.
- Installation and Commissioning: Execute installations of complex electrical and mechanical systems at customer job sites. Ensure all installations meet technical standards and customer requirements.
- Prototype Construction: Work closely with Engineering and R&D teams to assemble, test, and refine prototypes. Provide feedback and contribute to the improvement of designs based on practical installation experiences.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of installations, modifications, and maintenance activities. Generate comprehensive reports for both internal use and customer documentation. Knowledge of CMMS systems a plus.
- Travel Requirement: Travel to customer locations within the region for installations and service calls. Flexibility in travel schedule is required based on project timelines and customer needs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines. Communicate regularly to provide updates on project statuses and technical issues.
- On-Call: Willingness to have 24/7 availability for emergency repairs when needed..
Qualifications:
- Advanced Electrical Knowledge: Proficiency in electrical systems, including wiring, troubleshooting, and installation practices for systems from low voltage PLCs to 480v gear motors. Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions. Experience with bearings, conveyor systems, gear motors, drives, and other equipment a plus.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently when necessary.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and travel schedules.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role preferred, demonstrating successful installations and technical support in a related industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training or certifications in electrical or mechanical fields preferred.
