We are looking for a talented and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama . The Quality Engineer is responsible for the quality control of a repackaging process including repackaging quality, data management, problem solving and tracking and incoming material quality management of the production base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in quality management and quality tools and principles.
Responsibilities:
This role will develop/modify/apply/maintain quality evaluations, provide analysis and explanations of quality management systems, configuration management, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, data collection, statistical methods, process control systems and protocols, identify risks, internal audit processes, and analyze and make recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems.
Quality Control :
- Collect, register, and follow up on quality issues and defective products during the repacking process.
- Isolate and organize relevant departments to handle defective products.
- Act as the customer interface for customer complaints caused by warehouse quality issues.
- Lead improvement plans for failed items.
Process Audits :
- Perform annual and daily process quality audits.
- Identify process quality problems.
- Output audit reports and lead improvement plans.
Training and Development :
- Provide regular training to third-party employees.
Quality Reporting :
- Manage the quality cage.
- Apply for, purchase, and make regular inventory of equipment, components, and office facilities for the quality cage.
- Create quality reports for HQ.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Operations preferred.
- 5 years operation/QA production management experience preferably in automotive industry, materials, packaging.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles and practices.
- Experience in TS16949 quality system and quality improvement tools.
- Skilled in MS Office, familiar with SAP or other production resource systems, good data analysis and reporting skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
