Job Title: Business Development Representative

Location: Sarasota, FL (On-site)

Department: Sales

Reports to: Sales Manager / Director of Business Development

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) with a strong background in commercial linen services to drive new business and expand our client base. Your role will involve identifying, prospecting, and securing new accounts in the commercial linen sector. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in commercial linen services , including knowledge of laundry operations, linen management, and industry-specific needs. You will work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Prospecting:

  • Identify and Target New Clients: Research and identify potential clients in the hospitality, healthcare, and industrial sectors who require commercial linen services.
  • Cold Calling & Outreach: Initiate outreach through cold calling, email campaigns, networking events, and other business development tactics.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and stay up-to-date on market trends.
  • Qualified Lead Generation: Qualify leads through consistent follow-up and relationship building, ensuring alignment between prospect needs and service offerings.

Sales Strategy & Outreach:

  • Present Solutions: Effectively present the value proposition to prospects, showcasing linen services, quality, and customer-centric approach.
  • Consultative Sales Approach: Understand the unique needs of clients within the hospitality, healthcare, and industrial sectors and tailor solutions to fit those needs.
  • Proposal Preparation: Work with the Sales Manager to create customized proposals for clients, detailing service offerings, pricing, and terms.

Client Relationship Building & Management:

  • Nurture Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Client Onboarding: Guide new clients through the onboarding process, ensuring they understand services and how to maximize their linen program.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Provide ongoing support to clients, addressing any concerns or issues related to linen services, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Market Research & Industry Trends:

  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities in the commercial linen space.
  • Industry Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of commercial linen services to understand customer needs and present the right solutions.

Reporting & Metrics:

  • Sales Reporting: Track progress against monthly and quarterly sales goals, providing regular updates to management.
  • Pipeline Management: Use CRM tools to track leads, prospects, and sales progress. Maintain accurate records of interactions and activities.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Commercial Linen Experience:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the commercial linen industry or a related field (e.g., hospitality services, healthcare linen management, etc.).
  • Familiarity with linen management, laundry operations, and customer needs within industries like hospitality (hotels, resorts), healthcare (hospitals, nursing homes), and industrial services.
  • Sales & Business Development Skills:
  • Proven success in generating leads, prospecting, and closing new business.
  • Experience with consultative selling, focusing on understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of leads and clients effectively.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to clients at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong networking abilities and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Self-Motivated & Independent:
  • A driven, independent worker with the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively to meet sales goals.
  • Strong work ethic, competitive nature, and a proactive attitude.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and email marketing platforms.
  • Ability to leverage digital tools and resources to drive lead generation and follow-up.
  • Industry Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of the commercial linen services industry, including product offerings, pricing structures, and key industry players.
  • Knowledge of specific industry challenges such as quality control, inventory management, and customer satisfaction in linen services.
  • Education:
  • High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
