Certification Details BLS - Basic Life Support Chemotherapy - Chemotherapy Administration Certification Job Details Registered Nurse position at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center Primarily Medical Surgical patients with Oncology history and occasional Chemotherapy administration Target Ratios: 1:6-7 Shift: NIGHTS Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster Job Requirements Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers Skills: Administer chemo, experience in an inpatient setting, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac Certifications: Chemotherapy administration certification required prior to start; BLS required Schedule Information RTO: 7 days MAX. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48 Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding Attendance to monthly staff meetings Unit Specific Information Daily Census: 42 Unit Systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR Unit Orientation: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
