Job Summary: Scientist Position
Location: Cambridge, MA | Duration: 1 Year Contract
This role focuses on conducting advanced research and contributing to scientific projects in areas such as molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, or toxicology. Responsibilities include working with cell culture techniques, functional assays, and other laboratory methodologies. The position involves collaborating in a matrixed team environment, managing multiple projects, and adapting to shifting priorities to support research initiatives effectively.
Education & Qualifications
- PHD not required but can be considered, 0-2 years of industry experience in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Masters, 6 years of industry experience in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Bachelors, 8 years of industry experience in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Expert with standard aseptic cell culture technique, including experience culturing primary cells.
- Experience with 3D microphysiological cell models is a plus.
- Broad experience with cell-based functional assays.
- Experience with cell transfection/transduction, imaging, and flow cytometry is a plus.
- Basic experience with molecular biology techniques including RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, and western blot.
- Experience working in a matrixed team environment at a pharmaceutical company and/or CRO.
- Broad scientific knowledge in molecular & cellular biology, immunology, pharmacology or toxicology are recommended.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and flexible with changing priorities.
- Highly collaborative with demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
