Research Associate


Summary:

The Research Associate will play a critical role within the Global Research & Market Data Services (RDS) team, providing essential support in industry, economic, and demographic research. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple research assignments in a dynamic environment. They will specifically focus on sourcing and assessing relevant data and research providers, which will aid in the diligence process for potential investments.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Research Support:

- Deliver comprehensive and synthesized research findings to global investment teams within set deadlines.

- Anticipate the information needs of investment professionals and collaborate on research projects.

2. Industry Expertise:

- Maintain expertise in healthcare, government, and the public sector industries, which may involve deeply understanding relevant trends and drivers.

3. Data Sourcing and Evaluation:

- Identify and develop relationships with key third-party sources and research providers to enhance data acquisition for potential and existing investments.

4. Team Collaboration and Service Improvement:

- Actively contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of research services provided by the RDS team.

5. Project Management:

- Manage other assigned projects efficiently, showcasing adaptability and prioritization skills in a fast-paced setting.


General Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s in information science is preferred.

- Experience: 3-5 years in a financial services or consulting research environment.

- Research Skills: Strong competency in executing complex research tasks, utilizing secondary research tools such as Factiva, LexisNexis, and S&P Capital IQ.

- Analytical Skills: Exemplary analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective verbal and written communication abilities.

- Teamwork and Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diversified team context.

- Adaptability: Exceptional multi-tasking, prioritization, and follow-through capabilities in a rapidly changing work environment.

- Additional Skills: Language capabilities and experience in the European and Asian regions are advantageous. Familiarity with AI tools in research processes is a plus.

- Learning Orientation: A strong eagerness to learn and stay updated on industry developments.
