Our client is currently seeking a Landscape Architect to join their collaborative, multidisciplinary office in Herndon, Virginia .

As a Landscape Architect, you will ensure projects are completed within deadlines and budgets, guarantee client satisfaction by tailoring projects to their needs, and lead the team in strategic design initiatives. You will also pursue new clients and manage a team to ensure the successful completion and execution of projects.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage and complete projects of varying scales with limited assistance from senior management.
• Act as the lead designer for the development of design documents, including conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and clients.
• Write change orders to address scope changes and assist in tracking orders and work outside the original scope.
• Cultivate and nurture meaningful relationships with clients, vendors, manufacturers, and manufacturing representatives to promote practice growth.
• Prepare conceptual designs using a variety of hand-drawn and digital techniques.
• Plan and develop project design elements, including site grading, paving design, structures, site lighting, planting, and accessibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a similar field.
• Currently pursuing or holding a Landscape Architecture license.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of landscape design and planning, including large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with SketchUp, Revit, and other 3D modeling platforms.
• A passion for collaboration throughout the design and execution of projects.
