Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all hardware engineering aspects at VIMAAN
  • Lead and mentor the hardware team, fostering innovation and excellence
  • Spearhead end-to-end system design, including mechanical, electrical, and optical components
  • Establish and maintain scalable development processes and best practices
  • Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from cradle to grave from initiating projects and gathering requirements to deploying in customer operations.
  • Develop and manage product functional and design specifications
  • Drive the design of components and assemblies for warehouse automation systems, including cameras, sensors, lights, compute, and power delivery systems
  • Contribute as a senior designer, providing technical expertise and guidance



Requirements:

  • BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent work experience in commercial, medical, or consumer products considered
  • 5+ years of experience developing product mechanical architecture, including thermal, mechanical, optical and electro-mechanical systems
  • Proven track record in managing engineering teams and leading complex projects
  • Extensive mechanical design and engineering background with demonstrable achievements
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and change management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across multiple disciplines
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), presentation, and documentation skills
  • Passion for creating robust and reliable products, with a drive for continuous learning and problem-solving
  • Demonstrable track record of successful product launches and innovations



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in warehouse automation or related industries
  • Familiarity with optical systems and sensor integration
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to automation and robotics
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative design processes
